We’re Don & Carol: We have been tandem riding since February 1998. Having ridden four STP’s on singles we decided it would be nice not to get separated from one another!
Don rode half the 1996 STP by himself forging on thinking he was chasing Carol. Right! He ended his chase at our hotel with plenty of time to relax by himself. So the Cannondale Black Beast became our joy.
The downhill speed is exhilarating! We rode two marvelously fast STP’s in 1998 & 1999. In July of 2000 we took a Bicycle Adventure trip down the Oregon Coast. What a week. Lots of
beautiful scenery, plenty of great hills to climb and to top it off being pampered by the BA staff. Then in early March 2001 we spent a day road testing different tandems! Carol
knew immediately the Burley Rock ’N Roll Softride was the one. We can hardly wait for the delivery. You will not miss us, on our yet to be named, CreamCycle Orange steed shown below

We heard about the idea to form a
tandem club and got involved. The rest is history. We are now deeply in the middle of setting up the business part of the club. Officially treasurer/membership. The response to ETC has been very gratifying. Our
e-mail inbox brings new member applications almost daily. The first week after the web site went up was hectic to say the least!
We look forward to meeting fellow tandem riders and those
interested in tandem riding. We like to ride in the Skagit Valley and will be leading a ride there in April. Our hope is to complete the border-to-border (Blaine to Mexico) ride in the near future.
Don took an early retirement from Bank of America last summer and Carol joined him. Don does consulting a few months out of the year and we play the rest. Looking forward to putting the miles on our new bike! |
