Tasting was blind (though the bars were all on display close by).
Testers rated pieces of each bar on a 1-10 scale (best-worst).
Bars with equal median scores were ranked by their mean score.
Clif Ice was rated best for taste, but several testers though it best served with
coffee after a good meal, rather than while cycling. BioGenesis bars rated best for carrying and eating on the bike, but they had one of the lowest carbohydrate content.
Clif Ice contained caffeine. BioGenesis were hypoallergenic. BumbleBars were organic and vegan.
